Call them for HVAC! I have been doing a lot of work to my house lately, and have been dealing with contractors and companies of all kinds. I honestly wish Rick (the owner) and his company did more than HVAC. They’re the best company I’ve ever dealt with, no matter what the trade. I had a leak issue with a secondary system caused by a roof replacement and they offered to come out asap. Tim came out, discussed the options, and I decided it wasn’t worth fixing what I currently had. I opted to replace and upgrade. It was the best decision I ever made.
Rick then came out, listened to my thoughts, and we discussed several options. He offered me some good systems from Daikin, but for aesthetic reasons only I went with a system from LG. He said he was able to install it, and off we went! I was not as concerned about price, as long as it was reasonable for the amount of work, and more importantly for me, it looked good and worked well. I wasn’t looking for the “cheap job". Sometimes that’s appropriate, but this time I was looking to pay a professional for a professional job. Install is 80% people, 20% parts. Rick and his crew are 100% in all aspects.
I’m also a bit of a particular person sometimes, and Rick was easily able to accommodate. I always felt like I was part of the conversation. For better or worse, I was able to be home every day of the install process. I was curious what they were doing. I would sometimes watch and take pictures, but they never made me feel like I was a bother.
For a while I had also been thinking of replacing my 25 year old main unit. I’ve been living in this house for 6 years, and when I moved in I knew it might need replacement soon. Initially l planned to wait a year and maybe do it next year - it worked well and had no issues, unlike the roof unit. But I’m not the kind of person to wait for an emergency. Things always break when you need them most. So while he was here I asked Rick to give me some options for replacing it too, but that I would wait to install. I just wanted some info to wrap my head around. We discussed options and pricing, and in the end my experience was so good with the first (It had been a couple of weeks already installing it), that I decided I should do it now while Rick was on site.
Again, he was a true professional. He was a real consultant, not trying to sell you something you didn’t need, and giving you options you’d actually want. No hard up sells, no feeling like I was going against the grain. Again I was not looking for the cheapest setup, so I had some flexibility in choices. I wanted what actually met my needs and desires. It was a pleasure to work with him as usual. There was one time I asked about a different system which added significant cost to what we finally agreed to, and he actually said “No I don’t think you need that. I could do it, but I would honestly just be taking your money if we did that”. Honestly.
Because neither of my systems were an emergency, I had the luxury of time…time to choose anyone I wanted, get quotes etc. Even though I’m not an HVAC person, I know what’s reasonable and whats not, what labor costs are, etc. For the second system, I asked him to give me his full price range from cheap to not cheap. The numbers were in line with any other reasonable HVAC contractor. I didn’t get any other quotes this time. I specifically wanted Rick and his company to do the install considering the first. I have gotten quotes in the past, but even IF his price were to be slightly higher, I would pay it. Seriously. You don’t honestly say that a lot in life.
As I said in the beginning, I’ve been dealing with lots of contractors lately. You definitely want to call this one for your HVAC needs!
Before he finished the second system, I signed up for a service plan. I wanted this company specifically to look after these units for the future.
My experience with My Heating and Cooling was so good over this last month that it turned my hassle into a huge joy.

12/20/23: My heating wasn't working, so I went to TropiCool as a 2nd opinion, after a bad 1st experience with a different company. Chad from Tropicool came by to diagnose and fix my issue. He was very knowledgeable, transparent, and helped to ensure I got the best deals & offers available.
I signed up for a VIP membership and will definitely be going to TropiCool for also Plumbing & A/C maintenance in the summer! A+ service!

I have been a customer for over 9 years. Now there is new ownership. I called for service. They arrived the next day, and soon found what they believed to be the issue. Needed testing to confirm; they were correct and a part was ordered. Still had issues and in a short story, it turned out to be a manufacture's issue. It took a few trips, but each time Tim was a TRUE professional. (So, good people of Columbus, I have no cat story!!!) On the last day, the owner also showed up. Found out by asking questions he was in the service, so, again, thanks for your service. The bottom line: would I recommend My Heating and Cooling. You bet I will. I always feel lucky when I get that good feeling that the company I am dealing with is honest and proud of their work. This is a good, old fashion family company, so if their service department is so outstanding, can you imagine how at ease and with peace of mind it would be dealing with their sales department. Will I do business with this company again? Absolutely, in a New York minute!!!

I absolutely love this company. My AC wasn't working so I called another company to come out for service. Within 10 min of being there told me I need a whole new unit as well as furnace and they were pressuring me to get it that day for the sale price of $8,000! I decided to get a few estimates before agreeing to anything and boy am I glad I did. The owner (Rick) came out to my house the next day, advised me that my unit was working fine and it was just extremely low on coolant and most likely had a leak. The following day he had his technician out, fixed the leak and replaced the coolant. They saved me thousands of dollars. Don't get me wrong he advised that I would need a new unit in the next year or two but at least now I know ahead of time and can start saving for it and you know who I'll call when I do need it. Such a honest and reasonably price company.

We are so thankful for this company. -6 out and our furnace was out. With 3 kids we were in a panic gave these guys a call. They showed within 30 mins and was very polite and caring. Got my heat going in no time and then spent hours fixing our main issue. Cheaper than anyone around and did such a great job. We have now switched from the person we have used for years to this company for all our heating and cooling needs. Thank you so much. If I could rate any high I would.
